About company

At Insito Health, we find hard-to-find medications. We believe that everyone deserves easy access to the medications they need, but today, millions of Americans struggle with medication access and availability.

Since our launch of Medfinder in January of 2024, we have helped over 8,000 patients get access to their medications, are trusted by prescribers at leading care institutions across the country, and have closed enterprise partnerships with some of the biggest healthcare companies in the world. Medfinder is just the start. We are on a mission to topple giants and change the pharmaceutical industry to work better for patients, prescribers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and pharmacies.

Hi, I’m Peter, cofounder and CEO of Insido Health. We started the company to tackle the problem of finding in-stock medications at pharmacies. What began as a consumer experiment has grown significantly; this year alone, we’ve helped over 8,000 people access the medications they need. With fresh funding and great investors, we’re ready for the next phase. We’re hiring a founding AI engineer to build an API for real-time pharmacy inventory, using human-like voice agents to collect this data. If you’re an innovative thinker eager to solve this unique challenge with cutting-edge technology, we’d love to meet you.

As Insito Health’s Founding AI/ML Engineer, you will work hand in hand with our CTO and lead the charge in the development of our AI Voice Agents. We’re looking for someone with deep expertise in Python, Langchain, and LLM prompt engineering to build, tweak, and improve a near-human equivalent AI Voice agent that passes the Turing test. You’ll also be responsible for integrating it with our existing systems, experimenting with new approaches, and a little bit of everything else - we are an early stage startup after all!

This role is not for the faint of heart - we are a very small company working with the largest healthcare companies in the world. We won’t sit here and tell you that this role is going to be easy. There are no methodical processes to follow. There is no playbook. We have limited resources. We need a jack-knife that figures things out. Someone that will knock down brick walls, never backs down, and knows that every roadblock is just a stepping stone to the next achievement.

We don’t have a cut and dry description of what our ideal candidate will look like. We believe that the best people come in all different forms, at different points in their career. We don’t care if you dropped out of college, didn’t go to an ivy league school, or weren’t a straight A student. We care that you are the kind of person that never backs down from a challenge, is an outstanding communicator, and are someone who lives and breathes the desire to build something greater than themselves. Show us something cool that you’ve built, show us how you think differently than others, and how you approach solving problems.

Ideally, here are some things we’d like to see:

  • A few years of on the job software development experience
  • Deep knowledge and experience working with Python
  • Experience building with tools like jupyter notebooks and libraries like Langchain and LLM APIs.
  • Experience playing around with prompts and deploying LLMs in production environments, ensuring alignment. (Prompt engineering).
  • Working knowledge of AWS and previous experience deploying in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with software engineering fundamentals such as Git, bash scripting, and development best practices. This is a must have!

Extra bonus points if you:

  • Have experience working with text-to-speech models like Cartesia or 11Labs
  • Have built AI-based voice agents before

Even if you don’t meet all of those criteria, but are an out of the box thinker that wants to show up every day to help change the world, please don’t hesitate to apply.

This role is located in-person at our office in downtown Boston. We love working together in person, and believe that our odds for success increase by being in person. We do have flexibility for you to work home once or twice a week, but building in person is a core part of our DNA. We want you to want to be in the office.

The role will be compensated through a combination of salary and equity. As our founding AI/ML engineer, you’ll be laying the foundation for a large portion of our business in the long term, and will have lots of room for growth and upward mobility as our organization scales.
