About the role

We are looking for an agile, diligent and detail-oriented legal analyst or paralegal to support Electric Capital’s legal and compliance functions. As a key hire to the legal and compliance teams of a growing venture capital firm, this role will start with a very broad set of responsibilities, so it is built for an individual with experience supporting venture capital funds and seeking diversity in their work. This is a rare opportunity for an established paralegal with a desire to expand into other areas, like legal operations, regulatory compliance, or even finance or human resources.

This role will partner with the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and the rest of the Electric team to:

  • Lead initiatives for the legal and compliance functions, including the development and improvement of key processes and policies across the organization;
  • Coordinate accurate and timely regulatory filings and responses to regulatory inquiries;
  • Collaborate on resolution of due diligence and investor requests;
  • Project-manage various key legal and compliance projects;
  • Recognize and properly escalate significant matters;
  • Manage and maintain investment, entity formation, tax, and other legal and compliance filings and documentation.


Requirements 

Candidates are expected to have strong proven experience with:

  • Supporting investment management or venture investing legal functions.
  • Broad paralegal duties covering transactional, regulatory, employment, and enforcement matters.
  • Project management under tight deadlines.
  • Cross-functional collaboration throughout the business. 
  • Google mail and Google docs.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to adjust priorities in response to unanticipated events.
  • Managing confidential and sensitive issues with maturity and professionalism and maintaining strict confidence.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
