Aviato is an essential tool for anyone looking to source, qualify, and engage the most promising startups at their earliest stage. With a robust dataset derived using proprietary methods, Aviato delivers actionable insights and tools that allow you or your team to uncover previously unseen founders and companies. Aviato‘s strength lies in its ability to refresh data on a near-daily basis, ensuring that what you see is truly the latest information available.

You’ll be charged with helping create, maintain, and improve Aviato’s backend. This includes sections like our dataframe, API, web scrapers, ML wrappers, etc. You will work closely with our CTO and other engineers on the team and have the opportunity to make a huge impact on Aviato’s product.

A typical week can include collaborating with team members to formulate a solution to a problem, writing backend code, creating documentation for our frontend team, and debugging and fixing old code.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience in the following technologies:
• AWS: DynamoDB, Lambda, EC2/VPC, Cognito, S3
• Javascript, Python
• Web scrapers (optional)
• Linux (optional)
• Has experience architecting backend systems, especially data management systems
• Has a strong work ethic and doesn’t mind working under lots of stress for short periods of time

Bonus Points

• Early-stage tech startup experience, including at a data company
• Some frontend experience would be helpful in order to create management tools (They don’t have to be pretty 🙂)
• Experience in Elasticsearch
• Has built and scaled large webscrapers
