About Us
Legal + AI helps law firms, in-house teams, and legal ops professionals adopt and scale artificial intelligence. We combine legal expertise with practical AI frameworks to improve workflows, reduce risk, and boost productivity. Our team leads high-impact programs like the Legal + AI Summit, Legal + AI Services, and Legal AI Pro membership, empowering legal professionals to work smarter with AI.
Our Culture
We treat you like a human β with respect, flexibility, and trust. We donβt believe in burnout or endless hours. Our mission is to build a company where talented people do meaningful work, grow their skills, and still have a life they love outside of it.
Legal + AI is on a mission to educate the legal world and enterprise teams on how to harness the power of AI. We are building the leading global platform for this new era of work. Our ecosystem includes the Legal AI Academy for legal professionals and a rapidly growing series of virtual summits attended by thousands.
We teach modern AI skills, design industry-standard certifications, and partner with top vendors to change how work gets done. We are a small team that values creativity, ownership, speed, kindness, and forward momentum.
We are looking for a Legal AI Engineer to bridge the gap between traditional legal practice and modern artificial intelligence. You will be the subject matter expert who ensures our AI outputs are legally sound, accurate, and highly effective.
This role is perfect for a lawyer who is tired of the billable hour and is obsessed with ChatGPT, Claude, legal AI tools, and the future of legal tech. You won't just be using tools. You will be building the "brain" behind our educational materials and certifications. You will work directly with the founders and the content team to translate complex legal tasks into sophisticated AI prompts.
You will sit right at the intersection of law and technology. Here is how you will make an impact:
1. Prompt Engineering & Design
Design, test, and refine complex prompts to perform legal tasks like contract review, memo drafting, and issue spotting.
Build prompt libraries that serve as the foundation for our academy courses and student exercises.
Experiment with new models to see how they handle nuanced legal reasoning.
2. Legal Accuracy & Quality Control
Review AI-generated content to ensure it meets the high standards of the legal profession.
acts as the final "fact checker" for our course modules to ensure we are teaching correct legal principles.
Stress-test our workflows to identify where the AI might "hallucinate" or provide risky advice.
3. Curriculum Development Support
Collaborate with the Content Manager to provide the raw legal substance for courses and white papers.
Translate complex legal concepts into logic that non-lawyers (and AI models) can understand.
Create "gold standard" examples of legal work to train our models and assess student performance.
4. Technical Exploration
Stay on the bleeding edge of legal tech developments.
Test new tools and platforms from our partners to determine their viability for our audience.
Help us decide which tools to feature in our certifications based on real-world utility.
You speak "Lawyer." You have a JD and ideally an active license (or past experience practicing). You understand how lawyers think and what they care about.
You are an AI tinkerer. You use LLMs daily. You know the difference between zero-shot and chain-of-thought prompting.
You are detail-obsessed. You can spot a legal inaccuracy or a hallucination from a mile away.
You are a builder. You prefer building solutions and systems over drafting standard motions.
You are teachable. You might not know how to code, but you understand logic and structure, and you are eager to learn the technical side of the business.
Here is how you will define success:
Prompt Library: You will have built a core library of verified prompts for the top 5 legal use cases we teach.
Course Audit: You will have reviewed our flagship certification course to ensure 100% legal accuracy.
Benchmarking: You will create a "bar exam" for our AI models to test their performance on specific legal tasks.
Tooling: You will identify the top 3 AI tools that we should integrate into our next curriculum update.
You will be joining a company at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing categories in the enterprise. You will help define what "Legal Engineering" means for the industry.
This is a chance to use your law degree to build the future rather than just practicing in the present. If you are ready to combine your legal expertise with creative technical problem solving, we would love to meet you.
