About company

Stable makes it simple to headquarter a business from the internet. Today, we provide companies with a business address and a dashboard to manage their physical mail online. Over 3000+ companies like Ethos Life, Hipcamp, and Indiegogo use Stable to automate their mailroom and act as their permanent business address with the IRS, state, and vendors. ‍

Regulations for US entities were written in the 1800s and have changed little since. The result is a confusing system based on antiquated assumptions about the way businesses operate — requiring physical addresses, demanding wet signatures, and communicating through physical mail. ‍

These rules don't make sense for the way we work today — work takes place in the cloud and businesses are no longer tied to physical proximity or geography. ‍ We’re on a mission to fix the broken system of entity management. Starting with business addresses and mail, we’re abstracting the complex, archaic systems that make company-building painful and turning them into delightful experiences — so that modern businesses have the tools they need to move forward faster. ‍

We're backed by leading Silicon Valley investors like Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, Shakti, Hustle Fund, and founders from companies like Lattice, Apartment List, and FlexJobs.

About the role

We believe great products are built with empathy — your job will be to meet, learn from, and master our customer so you can build solutions that solve their problems.

As a Founding Designer at Stable you will have the opportunity to create a design system and process that will scale with the next stage of the product. You will design intuitive workflows for our users — CEOs, founders, and operations managers of fast-growing companies all around the world. Many of our customers describe our product as “magical and easy-to-use”, and we want our customers to continue to love Stable and drive positive referrals.

A few areas you’ll work on include:

  • Design experiences end-to-end — From updating the onboarding flow to redesigning the Stable Dashboard, create and validate wireframes to visualize workflows
  • Improve existing features in the Dashboard — Conduct user interviews and analyze product metrics to identify and solve usability issues
  • Build a replicable design system — Create a design system that scales with our product to ensure consistency across similar design patterns in the Dashboard
  • Collaborate as a product partner — Provide product insights to directly influence product requirements and determine what we should build next
  • Tackle the unknowns — No task is too small for you and you’re eager to support the team in any way you can. From brand, to sales-collateral, to graphics, the unknowns excite you

This position is great for someone who is excited by all types of design problems and vocal about creating the best experience for users. The ideal person is comfortable with all stages of the design process from ideation to high-fidelity wireframes — and is excited to take those learnings to an early-stage startup.

😀 Who you are

  • Driven by impact: You consistently see the possibility in what could be. The idea that you can make the future better than the present is exciting — and you want to be surrounded by others that share this ambition.
  • Learn by doing: You are motivated by results — you collect the information you need to understand which problems are most important to solve first. When challenges arise, you believe the best way to solve them is by tackling them head on.
  • Form deep relationships: You can easily put yourself in others’ shoes and enjoy understanding varying perspectives. You’ve found a result of this tendency are relationships you care about deeply.

✅ What You'll Do

  • Obsess over the customer to design pragmatic and effective solutions to their problems
  • Craft delightful customer interactions and journeys
  • Conduct user interviews and tests to gain valuable insights
  • Create design specifications and wireframes
  • Collaborate with the founders, engineering, sales, and customer team to improve the user experience
  • Develop a robust design process to deeply understand user problems and validate product solutions
  • Serve as a design generalist to help the business with any and all design needs
