Converge is building data infrastructure for online stores. We make it very easy for merchants to understand where their customers come from and help them optimize their customer acquisition.
We do this by tracking customer events (e.g. Add To Cart) throughout the entire conversion funnel and forwarding these to their analytics tools and ad platforms. We just graduated from the Y Combinator S23 cohort. We serve more than 100 customers and are profitable.
We serve small Shopify stores all the way to publicly listed companies. We have been able to grow so fast through word-of-mouth because our customers really like what we are building. We are backed by the founders of PostHog, Postscript, Shipbob, Showpad, etc.
At the moment, it's just us three co-founders and we are looking for a talented engineer who gets excited by talking to users and shipping product with us. You will be highly autonomous as to what you choose to work on to maximize your impact on the company.
We already have pre-built integrations with most of the big shopping platforms. We want to move beyond that and be the fastest way to track any customer event for all B2C companies. Some open challenges are: (i) making it easy to track custom events, (ii) building out backend, web and mobile SDKs, (iii) improving visibility/monitoring malfunctioning sources.
One of the reasons customers use us instead of Segment/Rudderstack is because Converge is much faster and easier to set up. We need help on making it more powerful (e.g. transform data before forwarding) and less clunky.
Our customers want to know where their users come from. A big challenge here is stitching customer events across sessions, devices and datasources.
Converge captures the most granular data of a brand's user base. We want to be the fastest, easiest and most powerful way for our customers to learn what is driving their user growth and we need to build out reporting functionality to do that.
Iterate fast: Have a bias for action and ship to users fast. Do not overscope - We believe the best way to spec out a feature is to build an MVP and iterate with customers.
Deliver results: Set clear goals and execute relentlessly. Take ownership and prioritize accordingly to ensure success.
Make everyone more successful: Minimise time lost with vague or redundant communication. Be direct and proactive to ensure everyone around you is maximally effective.
Embrace Schlep: Schlep is unattractive but valuable work. Run towards it and embrace - no task is below us and we are pragmatic in delivering results. We are humble, not arrogant or complacent.
