We are looking for a passionate Research Engineer to help build the AI Research Team at Applied Intuition. This team conducts world-class research for autonomous systems and closed-loop simulation to influence our autonomy stacks from prototype to mass production. You will have access to millions of miles of large-scale driving data and a diverse set of sensors to develop industry-leading models at scale.
In addition to your research, you will contribute to and learn from best practices in the autonomy industry within our fast-paced and customer-focused culture. Improvements deployed to our system immediately help our customers with their autonomy programs and deliver value to our business.
Collaborate with our ADAS stack engineering team to test and deploy end-to-end algorithms for mass production vehicles
Collaborate with our simulation team to deploy data-driven generation algorithms for highly efficient and automated tools
Conduct research on architecture design, robustness, safety, and language modality incorporation for our differentiable stack
Work closely with Research Scientists and interns on high-quality research publications to submit to top-tier conferences
Experience with end-to-end autonomy, multi-view perception, 3D reconstruction, diffusion model for sensory generation, and/or closed-loop behavior generation
A passion for scalable, data-driven autonomy for real-world systems
Strong research skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects
MSc or PhD in machine learning and computer vision with autonomy and robotics applications or closely related field
Hands-on experience of imitation/reinforcement learning, behavior prediction, and closed-loop simulation
Experience with training with large-scale data and ML models and/or applying language modality in AV stacks
Passion for building and shipping customer-focused software frameworks or tools

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
