Diligent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with key stakeholders and a small, agile development team to design and develop a greenfield application focused on data processing and reporting automation. This application will handle extracting, validating, and storing structured data from multiple file formats, including CSV and ICESA (fixed-width text files).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of the bulk quarterly wage reporting process for employers, including data extraction, validation, and storage.
Develop and maintain foundational data models and core business logic for the application.
Collaborate with stakeholders to break down epics into actionable development tasks and ensure timely feature delivery.
Perform thorough code reviews, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
Work with structured file data ingestion processes, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows.
Implement complex data validation and business logic processes within Ruby on Rails.

QUALIFICATIONS:

8+ years of professional software development experience.
4+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails expertise.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and data modeling.
Proven experience with ETL processes and structured file data ingestion.
Deep understanding of data validation and business logic implementation in Ruby on Rails.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL for database design, optimization, and management.
Experience with AWS and Terraform for cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
Strong knowledge of Git for version control and collaborative development.
Familiarity with React and JavaScript is a plus, as collaboration with front-end developers may be required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor team members and lead project initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ruby Association Certified Ruby Programmer is a strong plus.
