The client is a leader in modular manufacturing within the construction industry, offering innovative, sustainable solutions that shape the future of building.

Role: The Inventory Control Manager is critical in managing the flow of materials within the modular manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with a solid background in inventory management systems, physical layout optimization, and RFID technology, ensuring efficient material availability for production while minimizing waste and stock-outs.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management & Control:

  • Maintain ERP data accuracy, with a focus on part numbering systems and real-time product data.
  • Evaluate floor layouts and storage needs to maximize space efficiency.
  • Establish and manage bin systems, maintaining min/max inventory levels and clear visual controls.
  • Utilize RFID technology to enhance tracking and traceability of materials.
  • Conduct and oversee plant-wide physical inventories, ensuring high accuracy in counts and reconciliation.


Team Supervision:

  • Lead and supervise the shipping, receiving, and material handling staff.
  • Ensure clear communication and task assignment for efficient workflow across receiving, unpacking, and restocking of goods.
  • Set and uphold standards for equipment maintenance, facility cleanliness, and general safety.


Operational Efficiency:

  • Oversee receiving operations to verify incoming materials against purchase orders (POs).
  • Manage stock returns and documentation for damaged goods, processing as per company standards.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Purchasing teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow, proactively addressing potential stock-out risks.
  • Partner with vendors to ensure optimal service levels and reliable inventory replenishment.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Optimize material placement to reduce unnecessary operator movement, enhancing production floor efficiency.
  • Regularly assess and improve inventory management processes, striving for continuous improvement in material flow and storage organization.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • ERP System Management: Ensure ERP data accuracy and maintain up-to-date information on product availability and reorder points.
  • Vendor Management: Foster strong vendor relations, ensuring high-quality, timely service and cost-effective solutions.
  • Security & Compliance: Oversee the distribution of secure items, enforcing strict access protocols.
  • Restocking & Reordering: Track and reorder commonly used items, maintaining adequate stock levels to meet production demands.


Qualifications:

Required Experience:

At least 5 yrs experience in:

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and part numbering systems.
  • Proven expertise in setting up bin systems and maintaining min/max inventory levels.
  • Familiarity with RFID technology for inventory tracking.
  • Ability to manage large physical inventories with precision and detail.


Preferred Experience:

  • Background in modular manufacturing / construction or related industrial environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining a well-organized, efficient workspace.
